follow url Reportedly the family sitcom “Good Luck Charlie,” on the Disney Channel, has broken all previous standards by allowing a lesbian couple to feature in an episode of their show, when it was aired last Sunday (Video.)
The popular family channel obviously decided that it was time that children learned that there are children out there who do not have the regular mother and father as their parents, but two parents of the same gender.

Bob Duncan (Eric Allan Kramer), Charlie’s father, is heard saying that his son’s new playmate has two moms, to which his wife, Amy (Leigh-Allyn Baker) replies, “Wow! Nothing gets past you, Bob.”
However, not all are happy about the Disney channel’s attempt to educate young children in the ways of the modern world. The organization fighting against the exploitation of children in the media, One Million Moms, warned Disney that it could have severe consequences when they announced the introduction of the gay couple last June.

“Disney has decided to be politically correct instead of providing family-friendly programming,” the organization posted on its official website. It continued “Disney should stick to entertaining, not pushing an agenda,” in reference to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisεxual and Transgender (LGBT) content shown in the episode.

It added that while gay marriages may have become legalized in various states in the U.S., it didn’t mean that they were morally right.
However, Disney executives insist that the lesbian content had passed the examination of experts and advisors in the field of child development. They added that the episode included scenes relevant to modern society and were suitable for children of all ages.
According to Desi Lydic, the actress who plays the part of one of the two moms in the “Good Luck Charlie” episode, she was excited to be a part of the show and was proud that Disney had recognized the importance of showing diverse roles in society.
